Josephine Haden’s work is featured in Studio Visit (Open Studio Press, September 2008), juried by Carl Belz, Director Emeritus, The Rose Art Museum.  Studio Visit is a new, nationally focused competition and exhibition-in-print.

Josephine Haden was awarded a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship for 2008-09 The fellowship honors professional artists with monetary awards to support their work.  The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts has sponsored these fellowships for 68 years.  The juror making the selection was Jeffrey Grove, Wieland Family Curator of Modern & Contemporary Art, High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA

Josephine Haden’s work is featured in New American Paintings Mid-Atlantic edition No. 75 (Open Studio Press, April 2008), juried by Jenelle Porter, Associate Curator, ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) at the University of Pennsylvania.  New American Paintings is a juried exhibition-in-print.  Each regionally focused edition of this juried competition, presents the work of some 40 painters.  In her curatorial statement, Porter says:  ". . . fear not, Painting is not dead . . .painting is very much alive and kicking . . . something about each of the artist's work struck me . . . exploring color and form . . . find new territory to explore in representation and the figure . . .      The McLean Project for the Arts (MPA)  featured work by Josephine Haden at their booth at
     ArtDC, April 27 - 30, 2007, the "first" modern and contemporary art fair held in Washington,
     DC.

Concurrent with the 2007 Armory Show in New York,  Denise Bibro Fine Art,
New York (Chelsea), showed Josephine Haden's work at the RED DOT Art Fair in New York, February 22 - 26, and
at the Art Miami 2007 art fair January 5 - 8 .

    David C. Levy, former Director of the Corcoran Museum and the Parsons School of Design
    (NY), selected Josephine Haden's painting "Ection" (left image) for the April - May 2006
    exhibition entitled “Not to Scale” at the Target Gallery, Alexandria, Virginia.   

    Earlier this year, five of her paintings on wood (from the Nobody's Real series, right image)
    were featured in the new Russian Esquire magazine (December 2005/January 2006 issue).

Josephine Haden’s work is featured in New American Paintings Mid-Atlantic edition No. 63 (Open Studio Press, May 2006) which was juried by Alex Baker, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts New American Paintings is a juried exhibition-in-print.  Each regionally focused edition of this juried competition, presents the work of some 40 painters.  In his curatorial statement, Baker describes the artists he selected as follows:  "Pushing the limits of painting today, as well as recognizing the importance of roads well traveled as both foundations and points of departure for their work, the artists included in this volume underscore the continued vitality of the medium."
